“The Natural Revolution is here!!!! Women of Color get empowered… GO NATURAL!!!!!!!”
OK, no.
I just can’t get with this whole natural hair movement because it is supposed to be “empowering”. I am currently transiting to natural hair from relaxed and it’s because I…
In response (everything i say is with love and respect)….This was just a statement as to how it is empowering to see African American women going natural around my school. It was suppose to be simply a quote of excitement and me expressing just that — my excitement and how empowered we are at my college. I never said anything about me not liking black girls that perm their hair and blah, blah blah.. It was a simple statement to be taking lightly not analyzed, misinterupted and reblogged as if conceptualized to way to deeply…….

Foxy Brown’s BET press conference announcing she was 100 percent deaf:
“Thank you all for coming and showing your support. In May 2005, my life was altered drastically. But I’ve discovered that in your darkest hour, the confusion…your daily existence, can become overwhelming. During the recording of my new album Black Roses, I was diagnosed with sudden severe hearing loss. As time pass, an incredible anticipation of the album evolved and suddenly I became reclusive, privately suffering with the devastating news of my hearing loss.
We take for granted the simple yet powerful words like “I love you” by our mothers or the subtle support of words of an adoring fan. But I’m very appreciative of every kind remark, embrace and prayers from my family, fellow artists and fans. I’ve spent many confusing, agonizing nights crying in isolation and silence….To suddenly lose your hearing after ten years as a professional artist, I question God “Why me?”, but today I stand before you blessed, with only the voice of God in my ears as a vessel of inspiration.”
